About the Vocational Rehabilitation Association (VRA)

The VRA was set up in 1994 to provide a forum for practitioners working in the field of VR and to drive improvements in standards. It is a membership organisation with charitable status.

Vocational Rehabilitation Standards of Practice

Published in June 2007, these Standards are the result of lengthy consultation with professionals and other stakeholders across the UK.

They establish standards for organisations and professionals working within the field of VR.

They cover:

  • service delivery
  • client protection
  • professional development and maintenance
  • professional knowledge
  • transferable skills
  • corporate governance
  • business development.

The standards are due for review in 2009.
