The Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives (SCHWL) is part of NHS Health Scotland, the national agency for health improvement in Scotland. This privacy policy explains how we use the information we collect about you. What information do we collect about you?

We collect information about your organisation and your work contact details when you register with us or enquire about our services. Website usage information is collected using cookies.

How will we use the information we collect?

We collect the information for the purposes of:

  • Dealing with your registrations, requests and enquiries
  • Helping us know what you need so we can tailor and improve our products and services appropriately
  • Providing you with information about products and services offered by SCHWL.

SCHWL will not share or sell your personal information to other organisations.

How do we look after your information?

Your information is stored on an electronic database which is looked after by the Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives.

The Data Protection Act’s principles require us to make sure your data is accurate, kept up-to-date and that we keep it for no longer than is necessary. To meet these requirements we will:

  • update your data or remove it from our database at your request. Every e-bulletin and email update we send you will include a link to let you unsubscribe
  • contact you once a year to check you are still happy with us holding your information if we have not confirmed your details in that time. We will then delete your information from our database if we are not able to verify it.

Access to your information and correction

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you and to correct any information that is inaccurate. Please see our contact details to get in touch.

Website usage statistics

The Healthy Working Lives website collects information using text files placed on your computer (cookies). You can set your browser not to accept these files but some of our website features may not function as a result. The information is used to track visitor use of the site and to compile statistical reports on website activity.
