The Healthy Working Lives Adviceline helps small businesses by giving free and confidential advice and support on a wide range of issues concerning health at work.

We understand your employees have the same health problems as those working in big organisations, but as a small business you may not have the help at hand to deal with them or indeed, where possible, prevent them happening in the first place.

We also know that as a small business the cost of sickness absence can make a significant impact to your bottom line and affect your potential for growth.

Some types of work can affect the physical health of employees’, for example, their breathing, skin, hearing or their muscles, bones and joints. However, increasingly, employees are suffering from mental health problems, such as, stress which can lead to depression or anxiety.

If not managed effectively, all of these risks can lead to work related ill health and costly sickness absence.

The Adviceline will support you with any issues you have concerning the health of your employees - whether it relates to occupational health, health and safety or health improvement.
